Smile Another Knee Done - LTKR Apr. 14

Back again folks with another new knee!!! Everything went well! The Dr. said the left knee was in worse shape than the right one which was done on Dec. 12 / 07. I think I felt a bit more post op pain with the left knee but still not too bad. My Dr. also did a bit of manipulation on the right knee while I was under and was able to get it to 130+ degrees. I did not feel any discomfort after it was done. In fact, the right knee feels totally normal now. After the prehab physio on the left knee, I had 0 degree extension and 100+ degrees ROM. Everyone seemed pretty happy with that, as was I. I am home now, using a walker and am able to handle stairs using a cane and the handrail. I am using pain medication as needed (hydromorphone HCL 1mg) up to 2 tablets every 4 hours. So, I am overjoyed to have both knees done now!!! My surgeon and all of the hospital staff were wonderful. Now, of course, I need to continue with the exercises and physiotherapy for awhile. Thanks to all of you for the pre surgery well wishes. I will keep you posted on progress.
Cheers, Ross

Ross, what a WONDERFUL report! How fantastic that they could take care of the manipulation on your other knee while you were asleep. Now that was a surgeon who was THINKING!!! Hope things continue to go well. I certainly sounds like you have a great start on a new you!
