My life is pretty near back to normal now (as if it really ever was...) and I, like doug and Skeet, am getting busier and busier---while school will be out in another week, I will be working at the farm and cutting down trees for firewood. I will check in, but I guess you have sort of noticed that i have not been as regualr as before (On the computer:)!!!Don't get thinkin' those thoughts about stool softeners and such...
I thank you all for your sincerity and your words of wisdom. I will keep intouch and I will be back---just alittle mor infrequently, that's all.

Tim, You better come around every once in awhile to let us know how far you've ridden your bike! You are a true role model for many of us here.... Karen

Patti You Better Stay, Heck Gal, This Forum Would Not Be The Same Without Ya. I Know Summer Is A Time For Lots Of Activity, Lots Of Fun And I Hope We Can All Have Fun And Still Check In Here From Time To Time. For Myself, It Is Just Too Soon To Even Think Of Saying Bye. I Am Only Two Weeks And Two Days Post Surgery. I Feel Like My Life Is Starting Over And It Is So Exciting, I Can Only Hope All Of You Feel The Same Way And Feeling That Way You Are Naturally Going To Want To Spead Your Wings. All I Can Say Is Fly With God, Stay Out Of Storms And Enjoy The Sun. Love Ya Each And Everyone. Rowdy

Hey Rowdy, I'm certainly no Patti, she's irreplaceable, but me and my bi-lat knees are here for a bit longer! :-)

Jennifer,
I will be here for quite a while too. I have the surgery 3 weeks from yesterday. I just hope I am in good enough shape to recover in the manner I plan to!
You are 10 weeks out now?
Can you do a flight of stairs?
Can you drive?
How far can you walk?
Just wondering.
Thanks,
Crystal

Bet you're counting the minutes Crystal! I remeber being nervous and excited at the same time. To answer your questions, Yes 10, i'll be 11 on tuesday. yes I can do stairs. i still do one at a time, but sometimes one foot over the other. No cane any more. That was the last place I really used it.
Been driving since 2.5/ 3 weeks.
Walk at least half mile, honestly though, I've stopped measuring, now I just go. tonught I went to a graduation and whinced when I saw how far away to park. Then I said to myself, hey, what did we do all this knee stuff for if you're not going to walk. It was really no problem.

I haven't been here too long, but I have gone back and read a lot of the posts since last December/January, and I feel like I "know" some of you "experienced knee folks" so...while I am sad to see you go, I am thrilled to see how you have progressed over time and take heart from your stories. All I can say is thank you for the posts that give me such hope, while at the same time grounded in the reality of what we go through to reach "normal" again.
Good luck, and wishing you (and Doug and Skeet too), all the luck and blessings in the world!
