How to post a picture

posting a pic (I know the screen shots aren't of this forum but the technique remains the same ....

The instructions are as follows:

Photobucket:
to load the picture:
1. put the picture in "My Pictures" on your pc, making sure it is saved in jpg file type

2. go to www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com/)
3. register yourself if not already a member
4. make sure the options in the drop down menu are set no bigger than 640 x 480

5. then click on "Choose Files" which will cause a pop window of your 'My Pictures' on your computer to open
6. click on the picture you want to post and it will be automatically loaded into your PB album

7. click on the Direct Link box, it will go blue and a yellow box with 'copied' in it will briefly appear

To place the picture on BS
8. Go into BS, to the message box where you want your image - this can be either the Quick Reply or the Advanced feature.
9. click on the http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/images/editor/insertimage.gif icon and paste the url you copied into the pop-up box that appears then click 'OK'

Clever you - you've just posted your first pic!!

Paste Ctrl/v


The Properties option
There is a way to put images from other websites or a Google image search into your post

10. Right click on the photo and go to "Properties"

11. hold down the left mouse button and sweep across the url in the 'Location' to select it.
12. then place the cursor arrow ON the blue text, right click and choose 'copy'

13. then use do as described in 8 and 9.




PLEASE NOTE - IF THE IMAGE IS TOO BIG AND YOU FIND THE SCROLL BAR ACTIVATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN, PLEASE RESIZE THE PICTURE.

Check with the preview before posting it.
If you try to edit it after posting, the cookies will retain the original image even if you delete it from PB.

I have copied the Direct link just fine.
Go back to bonesmart and click the icon..type in http// then click o.k. No pics appear....????? Let me know....Patty

Dumb Blonde Or What,,,Took Me All Morning,,,I Was Using The Wrong URL And Finally Figured It Out...Place These Where They Belong....and Thanks For The Lesson...I Hope The Hips Start Hopping....and I Still Promise A Hip Scar To Go Along With The Face. Judy Judy, just get them to grab a camera that can be downloaded to the computer and put pics on MY PICTURES And then you follow the steps above and get the right URL(that is where I messed up)...and then you have it made in the shade...Patty

Thanks for the FIRE comment....I was definetly on fire that day and got nothing done until I got those pics on there. And yes, the fire extinguisher was the shower....Whew......lol....
