My Dad

Hi there - my Dad is having progressive trouble with a hip - now for about 5? years. He's 79, 50 pounds overweight, close to diabetic, takes coumadin (10 yrs?). He doesn't complain much at all and is in pretty good health other than these tough things. I'm just worried that his age and 'these tough things' will go against his hopeful choice to have surgery.

Have any hope to share?

Go against him? I wouldn't think so but let's see ...

age - no
50lbs overweight - no
pre-diabetic - no
long term meds - no!!

Given that he is mentally alert and otherwise independent, I don't see any problems at all!
