Hi, Crazy! Glad you joined us!
As for sleeping....sometimes you just have to experiment a little and see what works. Body pillows have provided relief for some. You'll want to take naps whenever you can too until you get to that point where you are sleeping through the night. You need your rest to heal!!

It is now a bit over 4 weeks since my right hip replacement. My legs just ache sometimes and now my lower back gets a bit tight. I also feel that my lower body gets tired. So I just have to take a nap from time to time. I still sleep with a pillow between my legs and can now sleep on the operative side. No cane or walker anymore too.
I am in my second week of water therapy which I enjoy. I do take 2 vicodin at night so I can sleep but I pretty much don't take pain meds any other time of the day. I guess I wish I didn't wear out so fast.

Hi Roxy, welcome to BoneSmart.
I am almost 8 weeks out of surgery and I still get very tired as well. Even 8 weeks is very early days. Give it a bit of time. Things improve very quickly. Great you have access to water therapy. That sounds wonderful! Why don't you start your own thread and tell us a little bit more about yourself. Happy healing!

Hi all,
This link came up on my computer out of the blue today and I read through the email threads that felt like memory lane. Haven't been on Bonesmarty for a long time though communicate with some friends via facebook. I am coming up on 2 years since my RTHR. Continues to be the best surgery. I have had absolutely no problems and am doing everything I want, including power walking miles and going to gym. Am now looking forward to dancing the night away at daughter's wedding on Aug 1--and had fun getting the shoes I wanted with no thought of hip pain. Good health to you all. Wonder if any 2008/early 2009 friends are still on this site? Laurie from NJ RTHR 8.26.08 |

Hi, Laurie!!! So great to hear that you are doing well! It sounds like you have truly reclaimed your life.
The forum has been chugging right along. We still have a great group of folks here who are actively posting. Some of the "goldie oldies" stop by now and then. We are like family.
