I hope everything goes well for you! I had mine Jan 4 and WOW what an amazing difference. None of the pain involved with my surgery was nearly as bad as what I'd previously been suffering. Take care and let us know how you're doing when you can.

Hi there, I had RTHR about 8 weeks ago, and it has completely changed my life! I hadn't realized how much of life I was missing out on as it creeps away really slowly during the pain spiral. I love my new hip, and I look forward to waking up each morning, taking my poodle, Doodles, out to do her business---something I absolutely dreaded before I had my surgery! Now, life is a big CAN-DO, and I sometimes forget I ever had the procedure done. You will be glad you did it--can't wait to read your post from The Other Side.
Cheers,
Patrikya

Thanks all for the kind words of support and positive feed back. This could have not have come too soon. The pain has been building up now for over a year and I have continued working (Electrical Contractor Industrial) up intil this past Friday Today, Sunday the pain is so debilitating that I can hardley walk. I'm counting the hours now.

Good luck tomorrow Rip! You will be happy once you get to the other side.

Pilot, I drove my car with the manual transmission at about 4 weeks post op too. I found it a much easier return then with the knees.

Rip:

Congrats on the success of your surgery. Now all that remains is the healing, and the first few weeks are the most challenging time, but they go by quickly. My surgery was two weeks ago today, and I'm sitting here waiting on the the home-health nurse to arrive and remove my 55 staples. You're probably about 9 days away from the same. It's kind of a "graduation" phase of the recovery period. After 2 weeks the staples start itching, so I can only imagine that everyone looks forward to having them removed. Good luck going forward, as it just keeps getting better!

Ok everyone one full week has gone by since my THR on Mon Feb 8. Rehab exercises are working great, off of the walker and moving around on crutches now. Was able to take a shower on Sunday and Monday. Wound from surgery is clean and dry (no more weeping). Staples (21) will be removed on Wed 17th only pain is from the surgery now. By God I do belive I'll be pain free soon

I am so glad to hear that you are doing, so well. It gives us hope for the upcoming days...I have my surgery on the 24th! I hope to have the same results. I sure can't wait to lose this hip and trade it in for a new shiney one!

Take care and keep on, uh, healin'.
