You know the annoying thing about skin? No matter how carefully you make the cut, when it comes to sewing it up again, it takes on a life of it's own! Truly!

Here's my "badge of courage"! It is 25 days old. An anterior approach to the right THR. My hubby thought this was the oddest thing he had ever taken a pic of but I'm pretty proud of it!!!

Oh I forgot to add....length is 4 3/4 inches long or 12 cm. Dr. Schaper (actually the physician's assistant sewed me up!) and his team in Louisville, KY did a great job!!!

Great, Susana.....people love to compare their scars!! It's good for the newbies too so they can see what they have to look forward to.

If I can figure out how to take a picture of my own scar, I will post mine. Right now it still has those little sticky sideways strips on most of it. I have the world's flattest butt so am curious as to how the picture will turn out.

It's a toughy but just keep aiming and clicking. Eventually you'll get a decent shot that doesn't show 'too much'!

Ah the beauty of digital cameras! No wasted film and instant viewing!

well, heres my new beauty mark.. 23 days after surgery, seems to be doing fine, one can see where there was an infection that slowed healing down a bit, but that cleared up in a few days and healing goes on.the scar was approximately 9 inches long..

Pics at day 10. Incision is 8.2 cm long (3"). The black dot about an inch below is the drain.
Held together with glue.

The leg used to actually have muscle and not NEARLY so much saddlebag...
