Hi all,

I found out yesterday that my surgery will be Monday, Feb. 22, 2010!! I am so happy to finally know when my "recovery" will begin. I have had enough bad days lately that it has made me realize that I am hurting anyway so I might as well be on the recovery side of this awful pain because it is not going away on it's own. I do realize that I have a hard road ahead but maybe there will be an end in sight sooner rather than later.

Yes I am nervous and scared and on somewhat "good" days question this decision but I am also very relieved to finally have that date.

Thank you to everyone for your encouragement and support - It is so comforting to know that you all understand what I am going through emotionally and physically at this scary time.

Congratulations for making the date! Yes, you will be nervous, anxious, and even excited to get on with your life before the surgery. After the surgery it is up to you to be diligent and work hard thru the pain to getting your life back so you can do the things you used to do an take for granted. It is definitely worth it! Good Luck, and keep us posted on your progress.

Suzi...congrats on getting a date. Saw you were from GA...we are "state buddies".

I know how you feel about FINALLY getting a date. I will be having my second knee done next week, and getting the clearances this time has been a real challenge.

The weather we have been having has done nothing to make any of my joints feel good. Spring is around the corner!!!!

Susan, I know it really DOES make a difference to finally have that date firmed up. Everything becomes a lot more "real" then. I'm glad you will be getting relief soon!

Thank you Barb and it is nice to know I have a "state buddy" through this experience. My thoughts and prayers are with you for next week. You are right - to be living in the deep south we sure have had our share of rain and cold - both of which make it hard on the joints. Today is absolutely beautiful but don't think it will last long.

Jamie - Yes having a date makes it finally seem real. I just hope I can stay busy for the next 3 weeks and not dwell on it too much! Definitely having some "nervous jitters"!
