My OS has developed some enhancements to the Stryker system to which he owns the patents. That's why he is particularly partial to that brand.

Mine was Biomet. He walked into the exam room after my first exam with some "props" and a pamphlet. "Here..." he said, almost triumphantly, "You can go online. I know you like to do things online." (because I do... and I have a blog that I use to rant/rave/entertain- sometimes with pictures).
My mother was infinitely worried about my surgery (and at the time it was decided, they were in Alabama), so I emailed her the link to the Biomet knee page. It set her mind at ease a bit to read about it. And now I've got a dandy, life-size plastic model of my pre-surgical joint.

I'm going to be getting a Smith and Nephew Journry knee replacement. I refer to my time leading up to the surgery my knee "journey".

Hi 'Oldie' - First off I hope your surgery went well without complications. I'm scheduled for my first TKR - right knee this Feb. My doctor, too, will be 'installing' a DuPuy Rotating Platform. I'm wondering how yours is working for you.
Any insight you can give would be much appreciated - Thanks! Rachell
