Hi @Hipgirl18 I had spinal and sedation last November for mine. No problems at all, no catheter required. If and when I need my other hip done I would not hesitate about having spinal and sedation. Hope all goes well on 6th. Take care.
Lovely photo of your son and fiance @Mojo333 , she has such a lovely smile..... and a great bloke by all accounts! All down to his mum of course. Good luck with the shoe shopping. I feel as though I've been wearing trousers and trainers for the past year and tomorrow going out to lunch and for...
Hi @Mojo333 It's 3 months today! and so glad to say everything is going really well, just the odd hiccup every now and then but on the whole just so pleased. BS has played a big part in my recovery and I count my blessings daily. And finally got a holiday booked for April so will get some...
Wonderful news about your son and girlfriend, now fiance. So does that make you mother in law in the making or are you already a MIL. And a super one you'll be.
Can I please be included with this climbing activity, but would to prefer to stay at the bottom with Sarah ready to hand out chocolates and alcohol for all those who made it. Of course if you are all late getting back.....
Hello @MammaT Ooooo you have chocolate stashed away, why didn't I think of that. I'll get that sorted when I'm out tomorrow. Hope you are Ok and taking your recovery one day at a time and letting all that healing kick in, well not actually kick but you know what I mean. I remember my first...
Hi @Berber7227 how's things? Like the new earings, but yes they do need a bit a sparkle. I quite fancy having earings the shape of new hip replacement. The stem hanging from ear bit being all diamonds perhaps and the top bit all gold or silver What do you think?
Hi @Bevlah just been catching up with your posts, I think you've done really well at just 4 weeks considering all the earlier hip issues you've had. Not many of us have had all that to deal with as well as THR. Don't you sometimes find though that one day you can do something that a couple of...
Hi @Susan209 was just thinking about you actually as tomorrow is our new hip 3 month anniversary. Congrats for tomorrow hey we made it! Good to hear all is going well and hope the xray query with surgeon turns out ok. Sounds as though he's on the case early enough though. It's great just...
Hi @mcopt so glad to read you are now in the recovery side. Sounds as though all went well and now it's a take it day by day. And it all does get easier. Just curious but what was your first track on your playlist? I also only heard my first track - Fleetwood Mac's Albatross, whenever I...
Anyone do any Tai Chi? and how long after hip op. Still loving the gym and aim to continue with it twice per week for now but have been thinking about doing something different as well. Making progress at the gym plus cutting down on work has got me quite motivated on all health related stuff.
Hello @NanaMama yes we are young really as the 60's are really the new 40's and with a new hip and no pain we feel we 20 years younger, well at least I'm starting to feel that way! Read all the information here, it certainly helps before and after the op. I attended a gym before my op -...
Hello @Bumblebee re you asking if anyone felt the spinal shot going in...... I remember asking him if this was gonna hurt and he just said he'd done it! Would definitely have sedation + spinal again if I ever need other hip done.
